Played mostly in the south of France during lazy après-sieste afternoons, boules is a game where players throw heavy metal balls as close as possible to a small target. Inspired by the geometric shapes of clustered balls produced by the game’s rules, Berlin design studio Siebensachen, led by Jörg Adam and Dominik Harborth, came up with the Boule fruit bowl: a group of randomly-arranged hand-cut solid oakwood balls which will display whole arrangements of fruit in the most playful manner. It’s as contemporary as fruit bowls go in its ability to turn your day’s fruit haul into a sculptural piece.
