In a collaboration that makes more sense than anything we’ve ever heard, Scandinavian design powerhouses Ikea and Lego team up to create a system of customisable storage. A new addition that’s due to appear in kids’ playrooms everywhere, the BYGGLEK is essentially a series of three boxes that double as customisable Lego base blocks to incorporate into builds.
Creative minds will run with the possibilities of what can be done with the three oversized Lego blocks (whose plugs allow the boxes to be stacked neatly – and solidly – on top of each other) and the 201-piece collection of bricks, food items and figures that come with the pack. Plugs on the sides mean that the boxes can be built into objects themselves, elevated from simple storage. The BYGGLEK collection will be available from October 1, 2020.
