The Neko Cat Tree is the latest project by Japanese cat product company Rinn, in collaboration with designer Yoh Komiyama. Its concept and design stemmed from the designers’ question of how to cat furniture could possible fit into Architectural modernism or art museums.
The tree comes with a marble base (inspired by seeing a cat cooling off by sprawling on a house’s marble entrance area) and vertically-oriented natural wood batons that form a circle. Hemp rope is wrapped around the base, and patches of fabric are incorporated onto the tree’s different levels.
If this sounds like something your cat would enjoy, be ready to invest heavily… the Neko Cat Tree retails at 1 million yen (€7400), with a limited sale of 22 pieces per year. Meow!
