When Lara Zankoul pins down the ideas in her head into a concrete image, she comes up with eloquent visuals that can be interpreted in a myriad of ways. The series Strangers sets the stage for “two figures distancing themselves in creative and sometimes imperceivable ways”. A play between architectural photography and portraiture, Strangers creates a narrative true to her photographic work’s aesthetics: reflective yet dynamic, charged by an unmistakable energy bubbling beneath passive surfaces.
Zankoul is currently based in Beirut, Lebanon, where she crafts and captures moments that encourage self-interpretation. Her signature work not only stands out in its conceptual identity, but also in its timelessness. She has participated in various exhibitions, both locally and worldwide.
