MIDE Architetti beautifully fulfilled a client’s desire for a home that elegantly embraces its environment while maintaining simple, minimalist lines. The house, designed to be a single-level haven, strategically integrates the living area with the surrounding landscape. A “glass box” forms the expansive living space, affording uninterrupted views of the lush greenery. A spacious porch surrounds this area, providing protection and a seamless outdoor transition.
In contrast, the studio gave the sleeping quarters exhibit an introspective quality. The exterior concrete walls feature regular openings, directly connecting with the garden and offering a sense of tranquility. The flat roof unifies the house while providing essential sun protection.
The design’s harmony with nature is further accentuated by “wells of light” within the porch, inviting the greenery indoors. The carefully chosen materials, including glass, wood, and the distinct reddish concrete infused with local stone, highlight the project’s ethos, underscoring the balance between architecture and the surrounding vegetation.
