For today’s young modern family, an ever-growing list of functional needs almost always goes hand in hand with limited living space. Thailand-based TOUCH Architect makes the most out of 340 square meters with the aptly-named Stack-Cube House.
The exterior’s plain-white walls are accented by deep cuts from the basic cube shape, with sturdy glass frames, a wooden-like aluminium trellis, and reused wood planks from an old barn accenting the outdoor decks and main entrance door.
The interior’s L-shaped space that composes the living, dining, kitchen, and activity rooms wrap around the central terrace, with glass doors allowing for a wide space with a tree in the middle. The three bedrooms follow the same L-shaped format, allowing the residents full view of the central terrace from above.
Built for a young couple with three kids, the house reimagines the square floor plan with an expandable central area where the children can safely play, with each room converging around it — a functional solution dressed up with a remarkable aesthetic, making the most out of the relatively small space.
