Based in Minneapolis, Anna Taberko is the creative mind behind these delightful kaleidescopic loops of blooming flowers, dancing insects and animals. She started experimenting with personal animation clips during the tail end of her college years, when burn out pushed her to pursue an artistic project just for the fun of it.
Inspired by phenakistoscopes – a technique of using spinning disks to create the illusion of motion – Taberko constructs each of her animations frame by frame in Photoshop and After Effects. Watching timelapse footage of flowers blooming helped her replicate the fluidity in her frames. What we love the most about her animations is how it transmits waves of good vibes to anyone watching them. Because frankly, there’s nothing a flower animation can’t fix.
