Talented creatives are paying tribute to The New Yorker with The Tokyoiter, a series of Tokyo-centric illustrated covers for a fictional magazine whose aesthetic and style match that of the iconic US publication.

It was early 2016 when Tokyo-based illustrator Andrew Joyce and art director David Robert launched the project, starting out with 3 cover illustrations. Today they have 30 covers, and show no sign of stopping any time soon. The collection features the artists’ impressions of what makes the city such a fascinating place to visit, covering food to architecture to culture… in short, everything that makes Tokyo amazing.

“We are sure that with this tribute to The New Yorker traditional cover art and The Parisianer, we can both celebrate illustration, cartooning, drawing, design, creativity… and Tokyo,” state the founders.
