Lover’s House by Isla Architects Exudes Beauty in its Simplicity

Simple and monochrome, Lover’s House exudes the soothing warmth and comfort that befits its name.

Built by Mallorca-based Isla Architects, this rustic island home is nestled among vineyards and pine forests, blending in perfectly with the Pla de Mallorca terrain. With a reclusive facade reminiscent of Arab architecture, the house appears totally closed from the entrance — once inside, however, corridors lead to different patios and viewing areas of the mountains and gardens around the property. An exterior wall divides the living rooms and the pool area, framing both amidst the natural beauty of the property.

The reddish tint dominates both the inside and outside of the home, in varying hues. The exterior’s color is more vibrant, emphasizing the overall form of the house while reacting to the sun and land throughout the day, forming different textures and movements as the shadows and pool reflections play with the palette. Inside, the color is subdued amidst the wood and concrete accents, softening the angles and giving it a soft warm glow.
