The Seminal Work of Photographer Denise Scott Brown Goes on Show in New York

An architect, urban planner, photographer, furniture designer, theorist, filmmaker and plenty more, it’s fair to say that Denise Scott Brown has had a prolific career, which makes the fact that she is so underappreciated all the more curious. Having written about great artists of the pop era from Warhol to Ruscha, it seems only fitting that her canon of work – mostly created on research trips concerning her architecture and urban planning – receives the same attention from observers today. Following two London exhibitions in 2016, a new exhibition in New York City celebrates a collection of images from her oeuvre taken in cities throughout the US and Europe that reflect her keen eye for space and appreciation for structure. The show runs at Carriage Trade in China Town until 22 December.
