This Former Theater, turned Warehouse, turned Home Displays Classic Cars as Art

Located in the heart of Barcelona, the Theater House by Cadaval & Solà-Morales has roots that stretch all the way back to the 19th century. Undergoing multiple changes through the years, beginning as a village theater, then briefly becoming a barn, before being utilized as a toilet paper warehouse, the building’s current guise has seen it developed into a large, live/work space.

The building stays true to its heritage, keeping the exposed brickwork and wooden beams, while updating the space with modern touches that complement its heritage. Comprised of over 300 square meters over two floors, the space contains two work studios within the loft-style home. Inside, the interior is elevated by unusual sculptures in the form of classic cars, with a mint condition Porsche 911 welcoming guests through its front doors. From theater, to barn, to warehouse, to home… with its original structure strengthened and intact, where next?
