Sydney bids adieu to the antiseptic, characterless standard of airport hotels with the arrival of Felix Hotel, designed by Fox Johnston and creative studio Space Control. Located a few steps from the Sydney Airport, this airport hotel tips its hat to the golden era of air travel with its eclectically designed interiors, colourful furniture, and locally sourced artworks. Taking its travel theme to heart, there are optional self check-in travel kiosks at the entrance, a sky lounge for the digital nomad, and rooms offering Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class comforts. Hunger pangs can be soothed with a trip to the 24-hour self-serve shop featuring local dining and drink choices. And those who are bug-eyed on jet lag can work up a sweat on one of the treadmills at the hotel’s Athletic Club, or space out in front of a film showing at the rooftop cinema.
