Consider us impressed by the stunning renovation work carried out by WEI Architects on this abandoned rural home Fuding, China. The architecture studio transformed the derelict structure into a gorgeous mountain guesthouse, utilising local materials and traditional techniques.

Inspired by the surrounding landscape, the guesthouse features traditional sloped roofs common in southern China. Double brick walls were preserved by the architects, and old timber collected from the surrounding woods is a dominant material used throughout the entire house.

Called the Springstream House, the project will hopefully draw in more tourists and visitors to the region.
