French interdisciplinary artists Tobias Nickerl and Clara Rivière morph the classic outdoor swing and rocking chair into a playful piece of furniture that guarantees intergenerational fun. A hybrid of the rocking chair (normally associated with the older generation) and the swing (which children naturally gravitate towards in the playground), the Rocking Swing is designed “to generate a playful double-movement – you can rock, you can swing, you can do the both at the same time, as your body coordinates what the chair will do with it.” The rocking chair part is represented by a colorful green metal frame whose structure allows the user a gentle rocking movement, and the swing part makes use of brightly colored ropes, knotting its leather seat in place. It’s a brilliant minimalist piece of furniture that will look good in any living room or patio.
