It wouldn’t look out of place on the Bridge of the Starship Enterprise and yet Vitra’s new chair evokes timeless style with its sleek, mid-century lines. Labelled the Grand Relax, the new chair by Vitra goes big on the nominative determination – and judging by the images of the exceptionally comfortable looking piece, the name is right on the mark.
Designed to cocoon, protect and enclose its user, the chair was created with security in mind when it comes to the state of comfort of its occupant. The stretched, elongated armrests, low slung seat and towering back rest are all dressed in soft leather, supported by a polished aluminium base. Naturally, it swivels and reclines to the occupant’s desired position. The Grand Relax Chair by Vitra is available from November 2019.
