The imagery created by Chinese photographer Li Hui is a careful balance of disclosure and disguise. Overcoming her own shyness through her photography, Hui’s images reveal strength in vulnerability. Her use of light and shadow are distinguishing factors in her work, which lend a dreamy quality to her visual compositions. She proves herself adept in presenting simple subjects in the most ambiguous ways, leaving her viewers to draw up their own interpretations based on their personalities and backgrounds. Hui also continually explores various techniques in film photography, experimenting with double exposures or saturation.
