Picking up her father’s camera at the age of 12, Sofie Sund discovered a passion for photography that would eventually turn into a career. Based in Trondheim, Norway, Sund currently produces commercial work in the fields of lifestyle, fashion and branding; but equally compelling are her personal projects, where she taps into more personal and intimate themes of memory and travel.
In her series Childhood, the Norwegian photographer recreates playful and powerful images often related to the mischievousness of youth. Her photographs of dirt-streaked sneakers, unfinished food sitting in the trash, or gum stuck on someone’s hair all border on the surreal and nostalgic. We love how Childhood’s vintage vibe brings back memories of our own impish adventures – a testament to Sund’s ability to effortlessly connect with her audience.
