On its third straight year, the Netherlands’ Rijksmuseum welcomed contributions for the 2017 International Rijksstudio Awards. Open to everyone, the competition’s only rule is that the design be based on and include images from the Rijksmuseum collection.
Titled Masterpieces Never Sleep, graphic designer Lesha Limonov designed eye-catching (no pun intended) sleep masks using the eyes of people in the paintings, a play on the idea that they stay awake long after the museums closes. The sleep mask’s packaging is also worth mentioning: coming in a cardboard tube, it’s smartly designed with the name of the masterpieces and an outline of the mask inside, allowing the buyer to visualize the product.
