Christian Louboutin’s First Hotel Exudes Rustic Luxe in a Small Portuguese Village

Legendary French designer, Christian Louboutin ventures into the hospitality sector for the first time with a new hotel opening in a small Portuguese village. The property, located in the coastal village of Melides, has a sense of rustic luxury with color, texture, pattern, and murals filling the extravagant interiors behind a simple whitewashed façade.  The property – Vermelho Melides – is a collaboration between Louboutin and architect Madalena Caiado, with artists, painters, sculptors, and ceramists commissioned to bring a unique sense of irreverent luxe to the hotel.

The hotel has 13 rooms (each featuring artworks picked by Louboutin), a lavish bar, a communal lounge space, and beautiful gardens with a natural pool. A stylish getaway for those who prefer their hotels on the eclectic side of unique, Vermelho Melides is an impeccably tasteful retreat surrounded by dense pine forests and close to some of Portugal’s most beautiful beaches.
