Stationed in Chinatown and the two bridges area of New York, photographer Alex Fernandez staked out the ominous beginnings of a snowstorm rolling into the city. Taking in the bustling streets with the city’s gargantuan architecture looming in the background, the shots enjoy a moody, cinematic sense of romance that cuts through the chill of an impending blanketing. Red lanterns, dim car headlights, and a sky lit up in a dusty, grey blue contribute to the muted, yet striking colors on display throughout the series, entitled Under Two Bridges.
Originally from Madrid but currently based in New York City, Alex Fernandez is a photographer and filmmaker who mainly focuses on street photography. His work is a result of his wanderings as an ‘urban explorer’, where he searches for the atmospheric, cinematic nature of the city on his travels. See more of his work here.
