Seth Powers is an architecture and interiors photographer based in Shanghai, China. Working primarily with architects and designers to capture their vision, he has created work for the likes of Hermes, Hard Rock Hotel, and WeWork along with many other commercial clients. His recent project sets the impressive Tianjin CTF Finance Centre at the heart of a series of images that catch the undulating skyscraper from altering perspectives throughout the city of Tianjin, China.
Standing at 530 meters tall, the building is set to house office space, luxury apartments, and a hotel across its 97 floors. The eighth tallest completed building in the world, the towering skyscraper tapers like a rocket, its ‘nose’ gently streamlined toward the clouds to create a continuous curving, smooth object without any sharp angles. In shooting the tower from residential streets, poking out from city parks, looming over expressways, and dwarfing its neighbors, Powers captures its awesome size.
