Adjusting from the workaday life of the regular roll of casual jobs to an uncertain freelance future, designer Sarah Brown aka DrakeCereal decided to put her daydreaming to work and get illustrating. Focusing on the humble city basketball court, her hoop dreams led to this series of abstract ballplayers who throw moves in shape shifting technicolor.
Now the creative behind the company DrakeCereal – a design brand based in Toronto – Brown uses her inspirations to influence work for the likes of Nike and Red Bull, stating, “As a basketball player myself, this project is a tribute to my personal history and love of all things basketball. My greatest influences are Michael Jordan and the movies I grew up watching like White Men Can’t Jump, Finding Forrester and He Got Game.”
