Created to for the ostentatious 18th century former manner house, and current restaurant, Palacio Chiado in Lisbon, this series by Frederico van Zeller goes chic with a tight brief that called for the merging of gastronomy and art. To be hung among the classic oil canvasses of the former nobleman’s residence, the photographs take a bold, bright approach to the brief, utilising raw fish, steak and cured meats alongside a curated collection of objects.
A photographer versed in the classic analogue style, these days van Zeller shoots mostly in digital but his creative images are no less appealing for it. Based in Lisbon, this most recent commission for Palacio Chiado was a collaboration with stylist Patricia Ribeiro and art director nutsbranding.
