The understated elegance of Maurizio Capannesi’s TAKO lamp is an ode to Spain and Japan’s traditional tableware: the pinewood serving plate for the Spanish octopus dish (pulpo a la gallega), and the Japanese bento box. Made of only three components, the two wooden discs act as the base and top for the lampshade. The entire lamp is held together by a fabric elastic band, a minimalist touch of color that makes the TAKO stand out.

Capannesi continues to design and create meaningful objects which “establish new bonds and evoke old feelings” from his workshop in Barcelona, which you can find in their design shop Oggetto.
