South Korean artist Me Kyeoung Lee has a soft spot for the convenience stores, as you can probably tell from her endearing illustrations of the shopfronts that one can find in the streets and corners of her city. With less of these shops present than before, Lee has dedicated two decades sketching these disappearing establishments, preserving their image and likeness in ink and acrylic.
Lee paints the stores as authentically as she can, making sure to include charming little details such as postboxes, signage, parked bicycles, or the surrounding trees and façades. See more of her illustrations on her website.
