In a move that will excite the hip, hike-core fraternity even more so than the rest of their goods, Japanese outdoor brand Snow Peak has delivered a weatherproof kimono capsule to the world – or at least for the first time outside of Japanese distribution. Labelled ‘Outdoor Kimono’, the capsule utilizes the high-tech fabric the brand is famous for in the development of two kimonos – the lightweight and the quick dry.
Fire-resistant (so you can use it by the open fire safe in the knowledge that you won’t go up in smoke), waterproof, windproof, and quick drying, the collection was made in collaboration with Yamato Kimono, a company that has been making the traditional garment for over 100 years. A long cut, wide sleeves, and oversized fit make it a highly functional, super stylish alternative to the common jacket.
