Painting With Light: Dancing GIFS of Lucea Spinelli

Painting with light is just one of the things that talented New York-based artist Lucea Spinelli creates. In Photosgraphé, light swings from park benches, hurriedly enters doorways or create arcs in the air. Spinelli captures movement with long exposure photography, using light as one would use to paint on a canvas. After shooting in abandoned spaces, the artist spools them together to create a vivid sequence of ethereal light paintings. Spinelli says that the project “explores this aspect of photography as a way to draw attention to realms beyond our perception” and states that her paintings “suggests life, lending an unexpected sentience to a chosen scene.” See more of her work here.
