Capturing the city with an eye attuned to its unmistakable cinematic mood, Paris-based photographer and VFX artist Thibault Bunoust frames a rain-soaked New York City as a gritty yet beautiful post-apocalyptic landscape with all the sci-fi edge of a new Blade Runner reboot. In the images, the sidewalk glistens with the glow of reflected neon light, steam rises from the drains, giant billboards hint at a future the rest of us have yet to arrive at, and the heavy rainfall casts a grainy filter over the entire series.
With visual effects credits on a slew of films including the Dark Knight and the Last Duel, it is unsurprising that Bunoust delivers such striking, poignant, cinematic stills with his camera. See more of his work here.
