We’re spoiled for choice when it comes to hotels in the Greek isles, and the newest addition to the bunch is five-star luxury resort Noūs Santorini, designed by studios Divercity Architects and MPlusM Architects.
Traditional whitewashed walls form minimalist nested volumes that are moulded along the sloping terrain. Most of the hotel’s rooms and suites – there are 121 of them – open up to private outdoor areas and pools in addition to the public dining, wine tasting and wellness therapies areas.
The interiors are a contemporary interpretation of the key elements of Santorini, from a color palette inspired by the Akrotiri murals to echoes of the traditional flooring of the island’s quaint alleys. Clean, white walls give way to the warm wood elements and earthy textile hues; walls feature artworks of Faye Toogood and Konstantin Grcic; and bathrooms are fitted with modern fixtures and terrazzo tiles.
