For their first collection of vases which debuted during the Maison & Objet in Paris last September 2018, Ukranian design studio NOOM unveiled the Suprematic Collection: a series of vases inspired by the geometric works of Kazimir Malevich, a Russian avant-garde artist who spearheaded the Suprematism movement in the early 20th century. The modernist period focused on basic geometric forms such as circles, squares, lines and rectangles — shapes which are present in the Surprematic vases and lamps. A cross between an art object and functional home decor, each vase is named after a famous suprematist: Malevich, Yermilov, Delaunay and Ekster.
NOOM, founded by industrial designer Kateryna Sokolova and Arkady Vartanov, combine both traditional and modern crafting in the creation of their products. See more of their creations on their website and Instagram.
