Mono, a prefab cabin by Canadian company DROP Structures, is quite literally a nest to call your own. Measuring a mere 10 square meters (106 square feet), it doesn’t even require a building permit. Despite its small size, there is more than meets the eye to this tiny space. Mono can be customised to include the comforts of modern-day living: heating and air-conditioning, wood stoves, built-in lofts. At its most basic the structure is just a single room, but it’s possible to extend its length to include a kitchen and bathroom.
Its deceptively simple design is a culmination of years of engineering and design by DROP Structures, who wanted to create spaces that were clean, well-built and geared towards encouraging fruitful living and working situations. More info on their website.
