While Fridge freezers and other household white goods that once pumped dangerous CFCs into the atmosphere were dumped decades ago, few homes seek true sustainability in their appliances. Keen to set that straight, French product designer Maxime Louis-Courcier has reinterpreted a series of products necessary in most homes, using sustainable materials sourced from unconventional materials.
The 27-year-old Parisian’s commitment to easing the environmental impact of our day-to-day household goods represents a radical approach that marries smart design and craftsmanship to create sustainable machines. Take the ‘Paper Clay Air Humidifier’ for example, an eco-friendly contraption that uses the physics principles of capillary action and evaporation to avoid the need for electricity or other energy sources.
