Artists have been creating differing forms of hyper realistic paintings for centuries and while capturing reality certainly isn’t the be all and end all of art, the super-detailed work of Nigerian artist Arinze Stanley leaves us unable to take our eyes off his drawings. Composed with a trusty set of monochrome graphite and char

coal pencils, Stanley’s portraits capture his subjects down to the most minute detail, creating a richness of texture that brings his pieces to life.

Taking over 100 hours to draw, Stanley’s process is revealed in the images below that show his inflated, larger than life, works from start to finish.
