This LA Remodel Brings Back the Mid-Century Vibe

This renovation project by LA-based studio Heusch Inc is a reimagined artefact of mid-century Beverly Hills, with an aesthetic that brings back the original character of the residence.

With the house in a serious state of repair, the first step was to carefully restore some of the features in its original state, using old photographs for reference. This is evident in the terrazzo floor that runs the entire length of the ground floor.

Key areas of the house, like the abandoned pond at the entry as well as the large terrace that serves as an extension of the dining and living areas were retained, while some were upgraded, like the patio that now provides direct access to the garage, to the pivoting glass doors on the main entryways and master suite balcony with a newly-installed glass railing.

An infinity pool adds a final touch of modern sensibilities to the reimagined residence, where the combination of tile, wood, and fluted glass keeps the mid-century feel intact.
