A Luxurious Forest House In Argentina Becomes One with the Undergrowth

A luxurious woodland escape disappears among the trees, revealing itself in glimpses that hint at its startling design. A blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, the Forest House subtly blurs the boundaries of indoor and outdoor. Nestled in a clearing at the heart of a serene coniferous forest near the coast outside Buenos Aires, the home by Gonzalo Bardach Arquitectura is designed as a discreet yet inviting haven, seamlessly integrating and cloaking itself with its lush surroundings.

Envisioned as a shelter that merges effortlessly with the landscape, the architects were guided by a desire to construct a sanctuary that both welcomed the forest while protecting its inhabitants from the elements. The design features organic forms, fluid curves, and plenty of openings with sightlines that draw in the verdant exterior.  The materials of stone, wood, iron, and glass offer a tactile quality, the design offering hints of Brutalism and Tropical modernism.

A tranquil escape immersed in the natural beauty of the forest, the home feels almost ‘landscaped’, itself a part of the merging forest and garden that also happens to contain an interior floor plan of flowing, luxurious living quarters.
