Street artists Ella and Pitr have been making work together since 2007, when a meeting led to the pair teaming up to unleash their unmistakable gigantic figures on cities around the world. Part of their latest series of sleeping giants, the new piece entitled The Shipwreck of Bienvenue, sees the work removed from the usual urban canvas and popping up on the side of a dam in the rural French countryside.

Found near the small village of La Valla-en-Gier near St-Etienne, the 47-meter high concrete dam hosts their latest tired giant, slumped on the hillside, surrounded by trees and rolling hills, clutching a picture postcard of his destination, in meta style. Working on ropes with a team of five people, the work took around two-weeks to complete.
