When looking for that vintage architectural treasure to fulfil your ultimate home desires, rarely in the history of property hunting have people turned up such a gem as couple Bob Coscarelli and Karen Valentine, who found a coup in the form of The Frost House, an untouched ode to mid-century modern. Built as a model pre-fab show home sometime between 1958 and 1962, the home the couple stumbled upon was not only untouched by the meddling hands of time, with its interior architectural layout untouched and intact, but the one very careful previous owner had kept it filled with a parade of vintage Knoll furniture.
Bought off the rack and lived in for 58 years by previous incumbent Robert Frost, the couple are next in line to enjoy the aluminium mid-century prefab, taking on their very own preservation project. “We went into the house knowing we wanted to preserve it and keep it intact,” says Valentine. “To be honest, where the furniture was originally placed is where it seems to naturally fit.” Bob adds: “I think the house is as fresh, clean, and modern as the day it was built. It’s a testament to the timelessness of modernism and the International Style, and it’s beautiful.”
