To see the Trin Cabin from the outside, is to see a beautiful, smooth concrete mold that appears unfinished at first glance. Like a clay pot put through the kiln without a glaze, or a Nike ID shoe before the experimentation begins, the light grey base of this mountainside home leaves it naked and yet not a bit vulnerable, its sturdy, blocky structure blending with the stony mountainscape behind it to offer a sense of weight. Recently renovated by Schneller Caminada Architects, the cool, clean exterior has received just as much attention as the interior.
Covered in wooden cladding, the space is a minimal celebration of clean lines and smooth surfaces, with the bare concrete theme continuing within. Dotted with large windows, views extend across the valley from what is by no means your ordinary cabin.
