Carly Palmour’s Original 35mm Photography Echoes the American Masters

Carly Palmour is a documentary film producer and photographer from Alabama, currently residing in Los Angeles. Documenting the scenes – both mundane and out of the ordinary – that she witnesses as her work takes her back and forth across the United States, Palmour’s rich images evoke memories of the masters of American photography like William Eggleston and Ernst Haas. Starting at age 16 with a borrowed 35mm camera from her dad, Palmour never looked back, quickly amassing a portfolio of images that swells with the nostalgia that bleeds into her shots. Images of the American road and its small towns, characters and peculiarities have been shot by numerous photographers over the years and while the subject is hardly untapped, Palmour’s work brings a seductive, timeless quality to the documentation of a country’s essence.
