Wardle Studio turned an existing Australian farmhouse into a sculptural and abstract copper habitat in their latest project, the Boneo Country House. Working closely with their clients, the studio was able to produce a home that perfectly complements the family’s way of living.
A new wing was created, with a kitchen at the heart of this fluid and organic space. Through the large glass windows from the lounge and living areas are expansive views of the Bass Start and Port Phillip Bay. “The view portals have been cinematically orchestrated to provide a variance of perspectives ranging from expansive and distant, to close-up and intimate,” says the studio.
The different tones and textures of local wood used for the walls and flooring work beautifully with the contemporary yet subdued furniture, exuding the warmth and coziness of expected from a delightful farmhouse. “The house connects with the landscape both as an embedded participant but also as a relaxed observer,“ the architecture studio says.
The stunning Boneo Country House was awarded Habitus House of the Year 2018.
