Casa Bou sits quietly among the trees on a small island in Argentina’s Paraná River delta, surrounded by lush vegetation and wetlands. Built by LMCO Arquitectos, it emerges as a three-storey black box made from wood and clad in black corrugated sheet metal.
Raised slightly from the ground, the main façade is announced by porticos and outdoor decks, its retreated interiors offering an amount of privacy despite the large openings and glazing.
The ground level is fitted with large sliding doors that join the outer deck with the indoors. Furnished with modern pieces and decor, this social volume is airy and bright, the perfect convivial place to hang out in with nature just a few steps away. A staircase, located on one end of the house, leads to the second floor, where the bedrooms and a home office are located. Finally, the third floor has a large semi-covered area that functions as a hall of the house, oriented towards the sun and boasting views of the surrounding landscape.
