Nestled deep in the North Cascades mountains in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, the Bear Run Cabin by David Coleman Architecture is striking enough to compete with the grand natural habitat it calls home. Sited on a rain swept plot surrounded by trees, the build takes over a modest footprint, pairing two buildings together to create a cabin that, in the words of the clients, promotes its ‘subservience to nature’.
The striking western terrace is a long glass structure built into the earth, leading towards a soaking tub set behind a glass wall at the end of it. The other side of the house sees a huge great room dominate the main living quarters, as well as a grand covered porch that enables sheltered views out over the trees. The ideal escape to dream of during these strange times of confinement.
