Behind the imposing solidity of Thailand’s 81 Transparent House are interiors designed to visually and physically connect to each other from every single space. Thai studio TOUCH Architect created the home for an entrepreneur and doctor couple, taking both their current childless lifestyle and future plans to start a family into consideration.
Viewed from the street, the boxy volume is protected from prying eyes by a front gate and a horizontal wooden slat facade, a portion of which can pivot open when desired. The interiors, however, tell a different story. Stepping into the home reveals a light-filled space that is dominated by its focal point, a central leafy courtyard, around which each piece remains visually and physically connected to. Large glazed panels, either fixed or pivoting, constantly connects with the outdoors.
Double-height ceilings and open terraces contribute an overall ambiance of lightness and coziness. Completed by clean white walls, wood details and contemporary furnishings, the 81 Transparent House is a residence that naturally adapts to the needs, both present and future, of its lucky dwellers.
