Perfumers embark on a quest to bottle that elusive scent of memories, places, feelings. But independent perfumer Timothy Han is going a step further: he’s bottling literature in his newest perfume line, Timothy Han / Edition.
Inspired by literature and creative free thinkers, Jack Kerouac’s On the Road and Simone de Beauvoir’s She Came to Stay are the two books imagined into olfactory stories, each scent telling a story and taking the wearer – and those around him – on a journey. “Like a good novel, fragrance should take you on a journey from the opening notes released in the first few seconds to the lingering remnants that fade away into memory hours later,” Han says.
Handcrafted in small batches, Han’s perfume line pays careful attention to the minutest details, from their use of 100% natural materials to the packaging the size of a paperback printed with limited edition artist prints.
