The color pink certainly isn’t lacking in this Taiwanese seaside home. KC Design Studio took on the remodelling of the 144-square meter holiday home for their client and her three cats. Across three floors, the Cats’ Pink House exudes an irresistibly cheery atmosphere and charm via a mix of different styles and materials in natural (pink) colors.
On the first floor is the living and dining area where the owner does most of the entertaining. Rounded customised wood tables and counters contrast nicely with the flashy terrazzo titles and rose gold stainless steel display cabinets, which hold the owner’s figurine collection. The second floor leads to the master bedroom, bathroom, and a room dedicated to the cats. The design studio applied double functions to the furniture and space: a customised cat ladder, for example, is integrated with a writing table; and, while the cats are away, the shiny customised cat tree furniture becomes a stunning sculptural piece. Meanwhile, the top floor steps away from the outlandishness and adopts a more subdued approach. The only floor connected to an outdoor space, this light-filled multi-functional area is a blank canvas dressed in cement, wood and black iron pieces.
