Located in Venice Beach, Los Angeles, this contemporary modernist gem is the result of a renovation effort by Space International architects that grew from the bones of its previous incumbent. Named the Wilson Residence, a common or garden name that defies the two-story home’s sleek stylings, the home was transformed into its current guise from the classic Venice bungalow that formerly stood in its place.
With an outdoor living room and a linear courtyard, the ground floor is a fine display of indoor/outdoor living, while the first floor and its bedrooms and deck represent a private realm of the home. An outdoor space with fire pit and patio seamlessly sidles up next to the house, perfect for balmy LA evenings.
