Even houses can benefit from a lifestyle change, and for the iconic Marion House, the transition from bachelor pad to family home is undoubtedly smooth.
The original residence of Chipotle owner Steve Ells, this 2001 Denver house had all the features of a swinging pad — massive windows put the industrial and modern restaurant-style aesthetic in full display. But with new owners coming in, local design firm Surround Architecture decided to smoothen out the edges, introducing natural materials like board-formed concrete, blackened steel panels, and smoked white oak to accentuate and complement Marion House’s exterior’s natural beauty.
The result is a wonderful balance of old and new, turning this once-infamous pad to a warm and welcoming home.
