There are furniture pieces that inconspicuously blend into a room, and then there are some like Legs that simply stand out. Flaunting bold geometric shapes and elegant black matte surfaces, each item in the collection by Pierre-Emmanuel Vandeputte has a personality of its own.
Like sculptural elements, their forms digress and deviate from the furniture norm, featuring elements that poke out or are slightly askew. These imperfections are nevertheless functional in addition to being decorative; these nifty little details enable users to hang bags on or hold loose change and keys.
Composed of a coat hanger, stool, table and chair and step ladder, the collection – individually or as a whole – is effortless graceful despite its awkwardness. It’s just like Vandeputte says: “Regardless of their nature, you are grateful for the strangeness of these Legs: suspended in fantasy and now rooted in the floor of your home.” More works by the Belgian designer on his website.
