Calling to mind the pastel popping colors and alluring angles of Ricardo Bofill’s La Muralla Roja, the Monument Valley Geoscience Museum presents its own incongruous burst of brightness from its location close to Qianting Town in Zhangzhou, China. Styled to deliver visitors into a dreamlike state with its vibrant colors, checkerboard patterns, and angular, fortress-like architecture, the Monument Valley is a peculiar kind of place.

Captured by Jonas Daley, a photographer whose commercial work has featured in campaigns for the likes of Dell, the project entitled ‘Monument Valley’ skilfully interprets the dreamlike quality of the warped, crisscrossing architectural shapes that M.C. Escher would have been proud of. Daley’s compositions show us the beauty of the colors and its incredible coastal location and frame the angular architecture in a way that opens up the views beyond the ranging shapes within this Instagrammer’s paradise.
