Poised above wetlands in rural Idaho just outside the exclusive enclave of Jackson Hole, the Teton Residence by Ro Rockett Design represents a fine example of architecture embracing its habitat and nurturing the environment around it. Built across a footprint as small as practically possible, the beautiful home is suspended on a mixture of stilts and stone, a design technique that makes the wood-clad upper of the home appear to be floating above the flora and fauna. From choosing colors and materials that blend with the natural habitat to locating the main living areas on the top floor to make the most of the views, every part of the Teton Residence was executed to complement the special location. A cozy, yet airy, open interior completes the impressive abode.
